Choosing your course
Studying at university is very different to school. It requires independent learning and self-motivation so it’s important you choose a subject that really interests you.
We offer a variety of courses which can be studied on a full or part-time basis. And with a wide range of modules within each programme, there is a course to suit you at Kent. You can browse all undergraduate degrees using the course finder. Then once you’ve decided what to study, it might help you to use the application checklist below.

International students should check the entry requirements for their country and also make sure you meet our English language requirements.
Most full-time courses are made up of compulsory and optional modules. Use our course finder to view the degree of your choice. Click on the course structure tab for information about the academic modules taught for your chosen programme.

Our undergraduate programmes are taught at Canterbury and Medway, as well as at our partner colleges. We teach different subjects at each location, so it is a good idea to check the location of your chosen course to explore the facilities and the opportunities available there.
Some of our degree programmes are accredited by a relevant professional body, so you gain an industry-recognised vocational qualification alongside your degree. This offers a route into qualifying for a profession and gives exemption from entrance exams, for example Law, Architecture, Accounting & Finance and Actuarial Science. Occasionally, these subjects offer joint honours options that may not include all the topics you need to study to qualify – contact the University if you are in any doubt.

Many of our degree programmes allow you to study or work abroad during your studies. Experience a different culture, develop your language skills, gain a new perspective and establish international contacts.

You can spend a year in industry on many of our degree courses. Immerse yourself in the working world, gain hands-on experience, learn new skills and put into practice what you have learned.

If you do not have the qualifications, study skills or English language ability you need to take the degree of your choice, you can apply for one of our foundation courses. They can help you to achieve the qualifications required for degree-level entry at Kent.
If you don't want to do a full degree or would like to ease yourself back into education, we have part-time and short courses that you can take, including general interest, professional development and access to HE courses. Please note: international students who are in the UK on a student visa cannot study part-time.
