Accommodation guarantee

You'll need to apply for accommodation between 1 November and mid-December (the deadline will depend on your course) to ensure you receive a room offer before the University closes in December.

We have extended our guarantee to include all students starting in January. If you apply by 8 December we will contact you about your room offer before the University closes for the Christmas break on 20 December 2024. Students who apply after this date are guaranteed a room offer, however, you will not receive an offer until the beginning of January 2024.

We have accommodation set aside for students who will be studying with us for less than 9 months, with contract lengths to match your course dates. 

Whether you're applying for accommodation at Canterbury or Medway, it's best to apply for your accommodation early and make Kent your firm choice to secure your preferred room. 

The Canterbury campus offers a variety of room types, subject to availability, but if you apply by 31 March 2025 and make Kent your firm choice, we'll guarantee you the type of room you prefer! 

Don't worry if you missed this first deadline! All students who apply to Canterbury or Medway by 30 June 2025 are guaranteed on-campus accommodation (off-site at Pier Quays for Medway students), provided you are a full-time student. No deposit is required – just choose your room and apply! 

All international students are guaranteed accommodation when they make Kent their firm choice and apply by 31 March or 30 June 2025.

The Canterbury campus offers a variety of room types, subject to availability, but if you apply by 31 March 2025 and make Kent your firm choice, we'll guarantee you the type of room you prefer!

Plan ahead for next year without the stress! All Medway students and the first 1,500 returner applications for Canterbury are guaranteed an accommodation offer of accommodation - just apply by 19 January 2024. Returning student application pages will open in mid-January, so mark your calendars!

Returning international students are guaranteed accommodation for all years of study, providing they apply for returning student accommodation by the deadline. 

For guaranteed returning student accommodation for September 2025, international returning students must apply by 19 January 2025. Returning student application pages open in mid-January—don’t miss out!
