The apprenticeship is underpinned by the BSc (Hons) Professional Economics. On successful completion of the end-point assessment, apprentices will hold an honours degree and the apprenticeship qualification.
The University of Kent’s School of Economics advised the trailblazer group for this standard and is the sole supplier for the Government Economic Service. We also work with high-profile regulators, commercial firms, and local authorities.
Kent’s School of Economics is currently the exclusive provider of the educational component for this apprenticeship and is recognised as the leader in apprenticeship delivery in the field of Economics.
We work with employers of all sizes across the nation to address skills gaps in their businesses. Additionally, we can create custom modules to deepen the knowledge of standards related to your specific work.
The University requires applicants to hold at least five GCSE passes (or equivalent), including Mathematics at grade B or 6 or above and English at grade 4 or above. They are also required to have achieved at least 120 UCAS points at A level (equivalent to three Bs). We can also advise you on which entry requirements to set to fulfil your needs.
The overall fee is £23,000 and this is payable from the Apprenticeship Levy or by Government сo-investment funding.
This apprenticeship starts in September each year.
The course spans 4 years with apprentices spending 80% of their time on-the-job and 20% on off-the-job training.
Each year has three 12-week trimesters starting in September, including 10 weeks of teaching and an exam period.
Trimester 2 and 3 feature two face-to-face seminars in London and Leeds, with the remaining content delivered via distance learning.
Weekly online learning includes lecture recordings and assignments released on Monday, with a live webinar every Friday.
Regular workplace visits support both the apprentice and the employer. We also provide guidance on funding, advertising, screening, recruitment, and workplace competency monitoring.
